Boko Haram suicide bombers launched two separate attacks at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) leaving a guard at the institution badly injured. The Punch reports that the attacks were carried out on the night of Thursday, May 18 and in the early morning of Friday, May 19. Abu Babati who is the president of the student union government of the university confirmed the attack.
He said one of the bombers was accosted by a soldier stationed around the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and was shot at after detonating his bomb. The other attack occurred around BOT Hostel which is a female hostel in the early hours of Friday. Yusuf Ibrahim who is a student at UNIMAID said a security guard station at the hostel was badly injured and was left lifeless after the attack.
